On 6th December 2024, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda held a meeting with three investors from New Zealand. The Investors, Mr. Jason Schrier from Livestock Improvement Corporation, Mr. Mark Smit, from Gallagher Group, and Mr. Paul Kintu from New Zealand Government, discussed issues ranging from Agriculture and livestock improvement, security for farmers around the National Parks, investment in the health sector and mobilizing Diaspora for Uganda’s economic development.

The delegation was led by the High Commissioner of Uganda to Australia and New Zealand, HE Dorothy Samali Hyuha, accompanied by the Deputy Head of Mission Amb. Muganda Guma.

H.E the President appreciated the investment proposals presented to him and directed the relevant technical staff to follow up on the initiatives. 

The President promised to provide financial support to innovative ideas and the proposed and investment conference scheduled to take place in New Zealand in April 2025. He also promised to send his representative to attend the conference.
