H.E DOROTHY SAMALI HYUHA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF VANUATU
Her Excellency Dorothy Samali Hyuha presented credentials to His Excellency Nikenike Vurobaravu, President of the Republic of Vanuatu at ceremony that took place at the Presidential Palace in Port Villa.
Ambassador Dorothy Samali Hyuha conveyed a message of goodwill & cooperation from H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda and commended the excellent cooperation between the two countries.
She reiterated her commitment to deepen cooperation between the two countries especially at the economic, cultural, diplomatic, and political spheres. Ambassador Hyuha highlighted the similarities between both countries especially the stunning natural scenery and friendly people and emphasised that both countries can benefit from each other’s experience in managing Tourism, Forestry and Fisheries.
The new High Commissioner to Vanuatu noted that both countries are members of the Commonwealth of Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement & the G-77 Group of Countries and promised to cooperate with Vanuatu on agendas championed in the Organisations in which both countries are part of.
Ambassador Dorothy Hyuha was appointed by President Yoweri Museveni on December 21, 2021. She replaces H.E Prof. Joyce Kakuramatsi Kikafunda who was appointed High Commissioner to India.
The new High Commissioner, a member of the Central Executive Committee of the National Resistance Movement, brings a wealth of experience in the diplomatic, political, and education spheres. She previously served as High Commissioner of Uganda in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Dar Es Salaam, United Republic of Tanzania. She also served as Minister without Portfolio, Ag. Secretary General of the National Resistance Movement and Member of Parliament for Tororo and later Butaleja Districts.
Ambassador Dorothy Hyuha is an accomplished educator and has a passion for the education of the girl child and empowerment of women.
