H.E DOROTHY SAMALI HYUHA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO HIS MAJESTY THE KING OF TONGA, AT THE ROYAL PALACE OF THE KINGDOM OF TONGA, 15TH APRIL 2024
High Commissioner Dorothy Samali Hyuha presented the letter of credence which His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda addressed to His Majesty King George Tupou VI, accrediting her as High Commissioner Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uganda to the Kingdom of Tonga, at the Royal Palace of Nuku’alofa, on 15th April 2024.
At the occasion, the High Commissioner conveyed to His Majesty the King of Tonga warmest regards and best wishes of continued friendship and cooperation from His Excellency the President of the Republic of Uganda. High Commissioner affirmed her commitment towards the deepening and expansion of the scope of cooperation between the two countries, through the promotion of commercial and economic diplomacy, tourism, education, and political relations.
His Majesty King Tupou VI warmly received the letter of credence and likewise conveyed best wishes for continued friendship, long life, and prosperity to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Uganda.
Ambassador Dorothy Hyuha was appointed by President Yoweri Museveni on December 21, 2021. She replaces H.E Prof. Joyce Kakuramatsi Kikafunda who was appointed High Commissioner to India.
The High Commissioner, who is a member of the Central Executive Committee of the National Resistance Movement, brings a wealth of experience in the diplomatic, political, and education spheres. She previously served as High Commissioner of Uganda in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. She also served as Minister without Portfolio, Ag. Secretary General of the National Resistance Movement and Member of Parliament for Tororo and later Butaleja Districts.
Ambassador Dorothy Hyuha is an accomplished educator and has a passion for the education of the girl child and women empowerment.
